We interviewed Peter Sartain, one of the Directors here at CBHC, about the CBHC Audit Service. Here’s what he said …

Why is CBHC best suited to help clients with their audit work?

We have an experienced team of auditors, with significant experience in the SME sector and the specific requirements of auditing these types of businesses. Registered to carry on audit work in the UK by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Does CBHC provide audit services to clients who already have a firm of accountants?

Absolutely, yes, we have partnered with many accountancy firms that don’t have an audit function or firms that have a conflict of interest and are unable to act. We’re very happy to partner with other accountancy firms on a similar basis without disturbing the relationship between the accountant and the client.

What’s your experience of what makes a smooth audit process?

Getting to understand the client’s business helps the audit process run smoothly. Also having a point of contact – usually their internal Accountant, Financial Controller or FD – who is responsible for pulling together all the records and data we need.

What technology does CBHC use to make an audit process smooth?

We have an online portal which facilitates the transfer of confidential documentation. We also use various online accounting packages such as Xero, and collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams.

What are the key benefits of CBHC Audit?

Adds credibility to the accounts.
If a client is selling their business or looking for external investment, our audit can add credibility with third parties.

Builds shareholder confidence.
Our audit can place greater reliance on the figures presented, especially with any external shareholders.

Facilitates growth.
Our audits provide a financial check that means more informed decision-making, and can ultimately lead to growth.

Provides an efficient service.
Our team operates effectively with a service that’s usually better value-for-money than larger accountancy firms, with a more personal touch.

Adds collaboration to existing professional relationships.
Other accountancy firms maintain their current services, we are happy to perform only the audit service, working alongside the current accountant who is the client’s trusted advisor.

Delivers a regulated service.
Registered to carry on audit work in the UK by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

How does the CBHC Audit Service fit with the overall mission?

Our mission is all about helping leaders worry less about finances so they have more energy to build thriving businesses. Our Audit Service builds confidence for all stakeholders – owners, company directors, external shareholders and investors. Our clients, or other accountancy firms we partner with to do their clients’ audits, can delegate their audit work to us with confidence, leaving them to get on with other priorities.
